DAI seeks a Malawi-based Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist for a 3-year, $24.6 million dollar USAID funded 'Feed the Future: Integrating Nutrition into Value Chains' (FtF-INVC) program. The goal of FtF-INVC is to advance the vision of Feed the Future and Global Health Initiative in Malawi by implementing agriculture and nutrition interventions that will sustainably reduce rural poverty and improve nutrition. This project is approximately half-way through its three year period of implementation.
Responsibilities:
The M&E Specialist will provide information management and design of a monitoring and reporting system including development of program indicators to help inform USAID, the Chief of Party, and Technical Program Officers of project status and progress toward achievement of key results as agreed in the annual work plans.
Other responsibilities include:
- Refine and implement methodology for systematic data collection and analysis of program indicators that reflects USAID standards and best practices in data and indicator quality, baselines, targets and performance reporting.
- Maintain database and interface with database developer on the build-out of the MIS system
- Design and carry out evaluations to assess project impact.
- Manage the implementation of baseline surveys, program indicators and targets, and gather qualitative and quantitative data related to those indicators and targets.
- Produce activity updates, newsletters, and performance reports, as needed and in collaboration with Communications Specialist.
- Oversee updates to the FtF-INVC database (TAMIS) and MIS to ensure continuous and accurate tracking of program participants and partners and reporting indicators.
- Utilize GIS technologies to contribute to the FtF-INVC program operations and evaluation
- Provide oversight to regional M&E Coordinators and collectively identify success stories
- Maintain the FtF-INVC program photo and other M&E related library.
- Serve as day-to-day interlocutor with independent teams that may be assigned to evaluate the program
- Perform other duties as assigned by the FtF-INVC Chief of Party and USAID/Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor
Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience in monitoring and evaluation management.
- Experience with USAID data reporting required.
- Technical experience in agricultural development and/or nutrition and institution and capacity building preferred.
- At least three years of experience in survey methods, design and implementation preferred.
- Proficiency in database management and data analysis.
- Strong writing abilities.
- Proficiency with desktop publishing, Access, SPSS, and STATA
- Advance degree in related field is required.
- Fluent English is required.
- Knowledge of Chichewa is desirable, but not required.
- Background in economics and/or statistics preferable
