The Graduate Engineer Program is a newly created 24 month development program designed to give recent university/college graduates challenging work assignments, training and development, and exposure to leadership. The program combines hands on experience with formal classroom training to equip participants with the tools and knowledge to have a successful career in GE.
In the Graduate Engineer Program position in GE Transportation will be providing technical support to GE Transportation's customers in South Africa on locomotive maintenance and troubleshooting. In particular you will be trained to:
- Provide technical guidance to GE Transportation's customers on troubleshooting, material
handling, tooling, safety procedures, and contract requirement clarification.
• Provide clear communication to GE Transportation's customers on work to be performed, equipment status, productivity, and process improvements.
• Work with employees, management and GE Transportation's customers to promote, maintain, and drive continuous improvement in safe work practices while monitoring productivity, quality assurance, and adherence to contract requirements.
• Ensure compliance with all governmental regulations, work practices and industry / site specific work rules.
• Work with employees, management and GE Transportation's customers on establishing production plans for labor, material and logistics.
• Work with various software systems to manage material, labor plans, and other systemic requirements.
• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Must be fluent in English
• Willingness to travel 20% of time.
• Must have legal authorization to work in Mozambique.
