It’s hard to believe that today 748 million people still don’t have clean, safe water and 2.5 billion live without a toilet. The resulting diseases kill one child every minute.
WaterAid is looking for a Senior Programme Manager – Rural (SPMR) for our programme to play a vital role in our mission to transform lives with safe water, sanitation and hygiene in the world’s poorest communities. The SPMR will be based in Nampula and will support the Country Representative (CR) in strategic planning, coordination, management and development of the WaterAid Mozambique rural program. The SPMR will also lead the strengthening and guiding of the implementation activities of WaterAid and its partners on the ground
Candidate profile:
- University degree in in relevant field (health, anthropology, engineering, hydraulics, social sciences, development studies)
- Significant experience in strategic planning, implementation and management of programmes.
- A minimum of eight years experience in water supply, sanitation and hygiene promotion programmes in the rural context
- Sound experience in financial management and human resources
- Excellent skill in the design and budgeting of programmes
- Leadership skills
- Fluency in Portuguese and English
