The Locomotive Assembly Technical Leader will be responsible for the timely execution of the GE Transportation Technology Transfer contracts to support the global growth platform. In this role you will utilize your full understanding of Locomotive assembly operations.
Ability to understand the product drawings / documentation and relay this information to the partner's team in order to meet production requirements per the contract.

Manufacturing Standards
Technical Specifications
Documents of Quality Control
Tooling Drawings and Techniques
- Work closely with GE Erie personnel and fully understand the Locomotive assembly processes.
- Educate partner's personnel on the technical training required in Erie as well as the technical service required in South Africa to meet the contract requirements.
- Accountable for meeting the quality standards required for successful engineering verification of the manufacturing processes.
- Understand product drawings / documentation and relay this information to global partners
- Create quality and manufacturing processes in the support of Locomotive manufacturing in order to pass verification testing in country
Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English
- Minimum 4-year technical degree – Mechanical Engineering or steel fabrication related field.
- Minimum 5 years working with detailed assembly operations.
- Strong background in the interpretation of engineering drawings / specifications and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with diverse team members.
- Must be self-directed, highly detail oriented, organized, and flexible.
- Must be able to use various hand tools and inspection equipment as required in the manufacturing of Locomotives.
Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally
Strong background in the interpretation of engineering drawings / specifications and manufacturing processes
- Working knowledge of coil manufacturing and alternator / traction motor machining processes
- Self-directed, highly detail oriented, organized, and flexible
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or technical discipline
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with diverse team members
