Norlhais a non-profit, non-political, non-religious association based in Lausanne, Switzerland, that supports remote communities in the Himalayas in building capacities that will allow their sustainable development, through integrated projects in food security, income generation and environment protection, with a strong focus on supporting women. Currently Norlha develops HQ management support team and is looking for:
Coordination and Initiatives Officer
Volunteer/Internship position
Coordination and Initiatives Officer has a key role in ensuring seemly flow of communication between core entities within Norlha, efficient planning of most important activities of the Senior Management over the year and participating in execution of specific initiatives in the organisation. This position requires a solid organizational experience and will allow you to use your skills and make a difference in a dynamic and growing organisation working in close collaboration with the team of Senior Managers (SMT).
Mission and activities
Coordination of internal management information:
  • Fully responsible for internal confidential SMT documentation and its communication
  • Preparing various analysis for SMT
  • Backing SMT with organizational, coordination tasks and other priorities
  • Organizing internal SMT sessions
Responsible for initiatives
  • Launching and developing membership project if interested
  • Co-lead the organisation of the annual Norlha Symposium event.
Candidate Profile
  • Confirmed experience of min 2 years in executive, administrative or organization management a must
  • Knowledge of international cooperation an asset
  • Fluency in English oral and writing a must, French an asset
  • Excellent computer and writing skills
  • Highly committed, dependable, strong ability to work independently and take initiatives, good interpersonal skills
  • IInterest in the Himalayan people and adherence to the values of Norlha.

Duration and working time: minimum 6 months, preferably 9 months or longer
Working time: at least 30%
This part-time, long-term volunteer position is not paid and an applicant must have a currently valid working permit in Switzerland
Location: Norlha office in Lausanne, partial home-based work possible
