Lead Advisor Strategy and Planning

Lead Advisor Strategy and Planning
London
One Year Contract
£43,812 per annum
To remain at the forefront of the human rights movement, Amnesty must be strategic and responsive. The Strategy and Evaluation Unit is central to this – ensuring we have effective strategies in place, translating these into plans at the operational level and continually learning from our work to help the organisation make as much impact as possible.
About the role
You’ll support both the strategic and organisational sides of our organisation. It’s all about facilitating analysis and strategic thinking so that we translate our new strategy intro strong operational plans. Working with teams across Amnesty, you’ll use your human rights knowledge and project management skills to strengthen our planning – making sure we are focusing and positioning our work to make the greatest possible difference, and are aligned and coordinated across multiple offices on all continents. And with the bigger picture in mind, you’ll monitor trends, network with relevant external organisations in the sector and stay up to date with evolving strategic issues and innovative practices.
About you:
Coming from a planning or strategy role with another INGO, you’ll be experienced with various methods and approaches, including impact-orientated theories of change, ideally in a similarly complex environment. Your project management skills will be complimented by your ability to move effectively between day-to-day operations and the bigger picture. Naturally, you’ll be a clear and convincing communicator – able to build relationships with those working remotely, present influential arguments and negotiate changes across the organisation. And you will of course be knowledgeable and passionate about human rights.
About us
Our aim is simple: to bring the world closer to a place where human rights are enjoyed by all. Independent, international and influential, we campaign for justice, freedom and truth wherever they’re denied. Already our network of over three million members and supporters is making a difference in 150 countries. And whether we’re applying pressure through powerful research or direct lobbying, mass demonstrations, human rights education, or online campaigning, we’re all inspired by hope for a better world. One where human rights are respected and protected by everyone, everywhere.
