Technical Expert - Agribusiness

The Mitchell Group, Inc. (TMG), an international development firm in Washington DC, seeks technical experts for short term assignments to develop baseline assessment of agribusiness and agricultural finance in Kenya, Malawi and Tanzania.
Qualifications:
MA or MS in agribusiness, finance, economics, social science, statistical analysis, or related field.
At least 5 years of experience working in economic development, with an emphasis in one or more or the following areas of expertise (please note areas of expertise in the cover note responding to this announcement):
  • Evaluation/research design, including knowledge and experience designing and implementing performance and/or rigorous impact evaluation designs
  • Commercial lending/finance, preferably related to agriculture
  • Agribusiness management and marketing
  • Agricultural Trade
  • Agricultural Organizations/Institutional Development
Successful candidates will have experience working professionally in sub-Saharan Africa, preferably in Kenya, Malawi and/or Tanzania, and experience working with USDA, USAID or other bilateral or multilateral agencies. They may also have expertise or experience in Market Information Systems, Information and Communication Technology, and Eastern/Southern African Agriculture Trade and Exports. Knowledge of Country Contexts is strongly desired.
