The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, an internationally renowned centre for research and postgraduate education in public health and tropical medicine, is seeking to recruit a post-doctoral statistician in pneumococcal vaccine epidemiology. The post holder will be employed as an academic member of staff of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), and will be based full-time at the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme in Kilifi Kenya. Additional overseas allowances and benefits will be provided as appropriate.
We are looking for a candidate with a Masters Degree in Medical Statistics or a similar postgraduate qualification, with proven practical experience as an applied statistician, including experience of analysing large data sets. A broad interest in public health and/or vaccines with experience of transmission models of infectious diseases is desired. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
The post is available immediately and is currently funded until 31 December 2017. Further funding may be available after this date. The post is funded by the Wellcome Trust of Great Britain. The appointment will be made on LSHTM’s Academic Pathway Research Fellow scale Grade 6 (£36,018 – £40,904).
