1. Property Maintenance Officer – Ufulu Gardens – Area 43
Prepare and carry out and report on planned preventative and unplanned maintenance of the hotel property and other plant and machinery within specific buildings of responsibilities to an agreed programme, Conduct basic immediate repairs to hotel property, Maintain proper written records on all matters appertaining to regular maintenance procedures in all areas of responsibilities, Assist with the day to day operation of the Hotel, such as setting up venues for meetings and other activities, Advise management of Capital Programme for the equipment, plant and machinery, ensuring that the budget for the repairs, replacements and internal fittings is discharged in accordance to the Hotel’s Financial Management Policies, Any other duties relevant to the position as delegated by the Managing Director
Hands on experience in areas such as building, plumbing and carpentry, Relevant technical certificate from a technical college, At least 5 yrs experience as Maintenance Officer, desirable, Conversant with Health and Safety requirements, both in discharging duties personally and with effect to the duty of care to staff and users, High level of communication, organizational and leadership skills, Ability to work under minimum supervision and at odd hours
Assist guests with all questions and reasonable requests, Ensure accurate information is provided to all clients with respect to all Ufulu Gardens products, Run daily end of shift audit reports and complete daily shift audit
Experience in Guest Services, with a strong knowledge of Guest Master Systems, Experience in Night Audit with an accounting background will be an added advantage, Exceptional interpersonal skills, Excellent communication, guest service and time management skills, Detail oriented, Able to organize, plan ahead and manage workload, A team player and a self-starter, yet able to work independently within Hotel standards, Ability to work effectively in an innovative, fast-paced and multi tasked environment, College or University Degree preferred in Hospitality/Customer Service, A minimum of 3 yrs experience in a guest services role
2. Assistant Human Resources Officer – Ufulu Gardens – Area 43
Provide support to the Human Resources Officer, Provide support to supervisors and staff to develop the skills and capabilities of staff, Assist in monitoring staff performance and attendance activities, Provides proactive support, information, advice, leaderships support and guidance to staff and external partners/providers, Assist in maintain an effective personnel filing system, Assist in managing payroll processes to ensure that employees are paid correctly, Ensure that industrial relations policies and procedures are monitored and maintained, Ensuring that the company complies with all legislative requirements, Any other duties relevant to the position as delegated by the HRO/Managing Director
Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management or related discipline, At least 5 yrs experience, High level of communication, organizational and leadership skills, Must be computer literate, Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is essential, Working knowledge of Malawi’s industrial Relations system and employment law, Ability to work under minimum supervision and at odd hours
3. Night Auditor
Night Audit – Run all Night Audit reports and report to Hotel Manager and General Manager, Create Check in Packages, Ensure all guests invoices due are printed and are in correct check in package, Check all daily audits and repot to Front Office Supervisor and Hotel Manager when discrepancies are found, Nightly duties to be determined by Hotel Manager and General Manager/Managing Director
Front Office – Ensure Guest Check In and Out procedures are being followed, Take and enter all reservation system (Guest Master) ensuring all bookings made adhere to the Hotel reservations payment and cancellation policies, Ensure high level of customer service is maintained at all times, Take cash, credit card and debit card payments, Answer and assist all incoming telephone callers to Front Office lines
