Malawi Union of Savings and Credit Cooperatives (MUSCCO) has been mandated by one of its affiliates; Tadala SACCO which is in the Southern Region to facilitate recruitment of Accountant who will be based at Tadala Head-office at Nchalo in Chikwawa District.
The candidate will be reporting to the General Manager.

The candidate will be reporting to the General Manager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the SACCO based on policies, procedures, plans and limits as set by the Board of Directors.
- Prepare and arrange Board and Committee meetings in liaison with the General Manager.
- Ensure that the Board and all committees operate within the limits set in the Cooperative Societies Act, SACCO Bylaws and other regulations.
- Prepare business plans and budgets in liaison with the SACCO General Manager.
- Prepare monthly and annual operations and financial reports, and ensure timely distribution to the board, MUSSCO, Reserve Bank and the Registrar.
- Reconcile monthly statements, ledgers and member accounts.
- Check daily postings and transactions and verify Branch Supervisors cash on hand.
- Receive, appraise and process loan applications based on sound lending principles and in liaison with the General Manager and Credit Committee.
- Prepare matching and cash liquidity reports and monitor deposit maturities for both the SACCO and members.
- Ensure safe custody of SACCO cheques, cash, passbooks and all controlled stationery.
- Safeguard all assets of the SACCO.
- Market the SACCO and conduct research for new services and products
- Ensure that subordinates are performing their duties as set in their respective job descriptions.
- Supervise the Branch Supervisors and other subordinates.
- Follow up delinquent members and produce monthly delinquency reports for review by the credit and supervisory committee.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the SACCO General Manager from time to time.
- Diploma in Accounting from a recognized institution and those with Degree in Accounting or Finance will have an added advantage.
- At least three years working experience in a similar position.
- Proven Working knowledge of computerized accounting applications.
