The Government of Malawi has received financing from the African Development Fund (ADF) toward the cost of the Competitiveness and Job Creation Support Project (CJCSP or the Project), and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this financing to payments under the contract for the consultancy to undertake procurement activities for the Project.

The services of an individual consultant will be procured to act as a Procurement Specialist to support the project in procurement of works, equipment, goods and services for the Project.

The specific objective of the assignment is:

(i) To procure goods and services for all CJCSP components.
(ii) To develop and continuously update the procurement plan for the project and to prepare periodic procurement progress reports.
(iii) To build capacity of PIU staff in procurement procedures
The Government of Malawi through the Ministry of Industry and Trade now invites eligible individual consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (CVs, brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills, etc.).

Eligibility criteria: establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s “Rules and Procedures for the use of Consultants”(May 2008 Edition, Revised July 2012), which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org. The Ministry of Industry and Trade is under no obligation to shortlist any consultant who expresses interest.
