Background
The Malawi Local Government Accountability and Performance (LGAP) project will improve the performance of local governments in the districts where it will work, strengthening citizen engagement and oversight, and improving the broader national policy and systems environment for decentralization. While doing so, LGAP will directly assist USAID Malawi to operationalize its integration approach.

Accountant
The Accountant is a key member of the finance team. He/She will play a pivotal role in assuring adherence to financial policies, project policies and procedures, regulations, controls, and reporting systems.
The Accountant will provide accounting and financial analysis support to the project office and will ensure submission of financial reports based on internal deadlines. This position will ensure compliance of all accounting and financial reporting functions Responsible for recording costs and day-to-day general accounting, accounts receivable/payable, payroll, risk management, managing partner relationships, assuring all backup documentation is audit ready, and troubleshooting accounting issues The individual is also responsible for cash flow analyses, and the overall financial well-being of the project. This position will work collaboratively with local and home office staff and will report to the designated local Finance Specialist. The Accountant may perform any other related duties as assigned


 Procurement Specialist

The Procurement Specialist is a key member of the Procurement Team. He/She will play a pivotal role in ensuring integrity, fairness, and openness in procurement processes as well as adherence to policies procedures, and controls. The main responsibility for this position is to oversee and conduct procurement of goods and services. The position requires relevant work experience in the field of procurement and contracting across a variety of industry sectors, contract management, dispute  resolution,  managing  interpersonal  relationships and communication, and investigating/following up on vendor issues
