Packaging Technician - Electrical

  • Ensuring that machinery and equipment on his line/s is maintained according to standard.
  • Ensuring that all PLC systems as well as instrumentation & controls in the Bottling Hall are maintained according to standard.
  • Ensuring that electrical downtime is minimised on all other lines.
  • Ensuring that all critical spares for his line/s as well as electrical systems for the Bottling Hall are held in the Engineering Stores to minimise Bottling downtime.
  • Assisting in the planning and implementation of a comprehensive preventative maintenance programme for his line/s as well as for all electrical and control systems for the Bottling Hall.
  • Ensuring that line/s is set-up correctly with every change-over.
  • Ensuring that bottling line/s is running at standard speed and investigate and correct deviations.
  • Ensuring that machinery and equipment on the line/s is available according to production schedule.
  • Ensuring that he is present at line start-up in the morning until line/s runs at required standards.
  • Ensuring that, together with change-parts store artisan aid, line/s change-parts and BFE is inspected and maintained after every change-over.
  • Ensuring that all issues identified in Line Improvement team meetings on his line/s as well as electrical issues on other lines are attended to as a matter of urgency.
  • Continuous on the job training together with Bottling Team Leaders of machine operators with regards to solving minor problems.
  • Supporting other Packaging Technicians on other lines when required.
  • To study and analyse recurring problems and arrive at solutions to prevent such recurrences.
  • Providing on the job electrical coaching for Mechanical Packaging Technicians.
  • Standing in for Bottling Team Leader when required.
