Site Coordinator - Jesuit Commons: Higher Education at the Margins

The Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) is an international Catholic organisation with a mission to accompany, serve, and defend the rights of refugees and forcibly displaced people. JRS in Malawi is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the following position:
Site Coordinator - Jesuit Commons: Higher Education at the Margins (JC: HEM)
The Site Coordinator: JC: HEM will manage the delivery of all aspects of the Jesuit Commons Higher Education at the Margins project at Dzaleka Refugee Camp, Dowa District in Malawi. The person will report directly to the Country Director.
Key Responsibilities
· Contribute to the quality and outcomes of all JC: HEM initiatives in Dzaleka Refugee Camp on behalf of the refugees served
· Manage the establishment, development and maintenance of relations with staff and manage the infrastructure of JC: HEM in Dzaleka Refugee Camp
· Accompany students in their pursuit and participation in higher education
· Provide leadership on the strategic direction of the program and curriculum
· The management and completion of all aspects of the Jesuit Refugee Service project management process including, the management of financial and other resources and timely reporting on their use and milestones achieved through the monthly report.
Qualifications and experience
· At least a Masters level Degree in Education, Social Sciences or related field (doctorate preferred)
· Experience in online learning
· Experience in project planning, reporting and budgeting
· Excellent written and verbal English and French communication skills
· Demonstrated work experience in a multicultural work environment with social justice and serving vulnerable populations
· Experience of working in a developing country is an added advantage
· Flexible and lateral thinker with proactive problem solving skills
· Demonstrable experience of, and capacity for, working collaboratively as part of a team and team building skills
· Technical skills:
o Experience with virtual learning environments, including Desire 2 Learn (D2L) and Blackboard
o Ability to identify and troubleshoot problems with computers, servers, and power sources, and secure repairs
o Ability to work with Microsoft Office and experience with managing computer networks and software management
