Malaria Consortium has currently got an opening for a Country Director in Mozambique. The Country Director is responsible to providing overall strategic and programmatic leadership, as well as fundraising, financial and management support to ensure the success of the Mozambique programme.
The successful candidate will have:
• Postgraduate degree in international health or relevant discipline
• Fluency in English and ability to work in Portuguese
• Extensive work experience as a manager, project director or team leader in international health in developing countries, preferably in Africa and a proven ability to deliver programme growth and impact
• Established leadership skills with a proven ability to nurture, develop and deliver through teams
• Extensive experience in human resource management and supervision
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with extensive experience of senior level networking
• Extensive experience in financial management and budgeting
• Understanding of donor requirements, including DFID and USAID
• Proven track record in resource mobilisation/business development
• Creativity, with experience funding activities in ways that both cover costs and generate operating margins
• Willingness to undertake travel at short notice.
• Ability to work effectively and sensitively in a cross cultural context
• Results focused with a collaborative and flexible style
