Manager, Nutrition And WASH - Mozambique

Save the Children is the leading independent organization for children in need, with programs in 120 countries, including the United States. We aim to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children, and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives by improving their health, education and economic opportunities. In times of acute crisis, we mobilize rapid assistance to help children recover from the effects of war, conflict and natural disasters.
We are currently recruiting for a Nutrition and WASH component of this USAID-funded Strengthening Agribusinesses And Fostering Rural Alimentation (SAFRA) Project, which will be implemented in 23 districts in 4 provinces (Nampula, Zambezia, Manica and Tete) by SCI as part of a consortium headed by Deloitte. The overall objective of the Nutrition and WASH component is to implement activities at the community level that will significantly improve the nutritional statuses and food security of the target groups and reduce the incidence of water-borne diseases, resulting in improved key anthropometric indicators. The primary target groups are pregnant and lactating women, children under five years, and women and girls of reproductive age; other community members will also receive secondary benefits from the interventions and will be engaged as key actors in supporting and promoting the desired behavior change.
The principle role of the Manager of the Nutrition and WASH component is to lead and manage the program on behalf of Save the Children International, including the supervision of 4 Provincial Nutrition and WASH Officials, who will be responsible for the integrated planning and implementation of the program in their respective provinces. The project duration will be five years, with an expected start date of early 2015 and will report directly to the SAFRA Deputy Chief of Party.
