Role overview
The Health and Agribusiness Development Adviser will be responsible for strengthen the capacity of the target prisons to develop sustainable farming production and agribusiness through support to the nutrition Income Generating Activities (IGAs) and vocational skill development. The Adviser will be required to support the delivery and management of health and HIV and AIDS services in Malawi prisons through strengthening linkages with Health service providers and making follow ups with ex-prisoners. The person will also support prison facilities with rehabilitation initiatives for successful reintegration of prisoners back into society and also support in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in prisons, based on the developed regional guidelines and monitor the application of these SOPs.

Skills, qualifications and experience required
If you are a motivated and innovative Agribusiness professional, with some public health background, then this job is for you. We are looking for someone with 4 - 5 years experience working in development setting, supporting development of agribusiness initiatives particularly for marginalized groups such as prisoners. The position requires someone who can demonstrate capacity to work in prison settings and to work in collaboration with health service delivery institutions and structures. Also, the position requires experience on community based programming in small to medium agri-business management as well as demonstrated knowledge in rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners.
