ZONAL BUSINESS PARTNER
Purpose of the position
Management of people and culture management responsibilities, projects and activities for his or her area of responsibility by providing technical leadership, advice and support to management and staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Management of people and culture management responsibilities, projects and activities for his or her area of responsibility by providing technical leadership, advice and support to managers.
- Work with managers and staff to promote a culture, impart skills and implement systems and processes aimed at ensuring that cases of breach of discipline are not only brought to the attention of relevant authorities, but are also managed appropriately.
- Work with managers and staff to equip them with skills, processes and systems aimed at ensuring that staff grievances are reported and appropriately resolved.
- Ensure that all yearly policy acceptance declarations are signed by staff and filed appropriately within the first two months of every financial year and at the time of reporting for duties in the case of new employees. Also ensure that new staff present police clearance reports on the first day they report for duties at the latest.
- Guide and support management and staff in designing or reviewing jobs, compiling job descriptions and submitting job descriptions for purposes of job evaluation or re-evaluation. Also take part in the job evaluation process on invitation by the office of the P&C Director.
- Ensure that all managers and staff are effectively utilizing Our People for leave administration and updating personal information.
- Coordinate the timely preparation , approval or submission to Payroll Office (or in Our People )of documents required for the Payroll Office to effect changes or transactions relating to new employees, separations including deaths, pay changes, staff transfers, promotions, acting appointments, and other applicable matters.
- Report all workers compensation cases, initiate workers compensation claims and ensure that the claim settlement processes are well and timely completed until the payment is made to the claimant.
- Report on all labour cases in his or her area of responsibility, compile summaries and documentation required to defend the cases in court as well as liaise with lawyers or represent WVM in courts either alone or accompanied by lawyers and witnesses as necessary.

- Minimum Qualification required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field.
- Experience:
- At least 5 years experience at managerial level in human resources management.
- Preferred:
- Masters degree in related field.
