Role overview
VSO and Onebillion with funding from the Royal Norwegian Embassy are implementing the Unlocking talent project. The project aims at increasing core competencies in reading, mathematics and English for Standard 1 and Standard 2 primary school learners, using technology (Ipads). The post holder will be expected to lead in ongoing action research activities focusing on how children learn using technology and to use that learning to further develop the learning software so as to provide the best possible platform to increase learning outcomes. The post holder will be expected to be ‘learner centred’ and thus be able to represent "the child" and other stakeholders back to Onebillion in the UK office so as to allow iteration of the software to maximise learning outcomes |
Skills, qualifications and experience required
• At least first degree in Education or related field. Those educated to masters level in education have an added advantage; Knowledge in digital education technology; Excellent speaking and writing skills; Ability to work with children and accurately observe and record/data collection; Basic technical skills to install (after training if necessary) new iterations of software on several mini ipads; A valid and clean driver’s license; Be willing to travel extensively to project sites • Keen observation skills |
