Project Coordinator – Data Impact – Baobab Health Trust - Lilongwe
To support the successful implementation of a program of capacity building and technical assistance activities to improve the use of data for health policy and planning, that has been mutually agreed upon by the MOH and Vital Strategies
Will sit in the Department of Planning and Policy Development and will ensure that these activities
Meet the data use challenges as defined by the MOH, Maintain high standards of quality, Work with and encourage collaboration between multiple Departments within the MOH, Become sustainable at the end of the initiative
Will work closely with the Head of the Policy Development Unit and the Deputy Director of the Central Monitoring and Evaluation Division (CMED) and will report to the Director of the Department of Planning and Policy Development through the Deputy Director of CMED at the MOH, Additionally the Coordinator will report to the Senior Technical Advisor at Vital Strategies, Finally the Coordinator will report to the Baobab Health Trust for contractual matters
Data Impact Program management and planning, Data Impact Program reporting, Capacity development support, Support to vertical programs as needed to foster, Development of data-rich reports and other communication materials as needed by the Department of Planning and Policy Development, Liaison between the Central Monitoring and Evaluation Division (CMED) and the Policy Development and Planning and Budgeting Units within the Department of Planning and Policy Development (DPPD)
Masters Degree in Public Health, preferably Epidemiology, At least 5 yrs of work experience in the Malawi health sector, Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Previous experience managing a complex, multi party project, Demonstrate long-term TA advocacy and coaching skills, Demonstrate skills with GIS mapping and analysis, Excellent data analysis skills, including STATA, SAS or SPSS, Demonstrated knowledge of Govt health systems in Africa, Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Previous experience managing a complex, multi party project, Ability to multi task and cover multiple work streams simultaneously, Self starter, self reliant with excellent organization, coordination an deplaning skills, Naturally committed and hard working with ability to work under pressure, Excellent people skills, Ability and willingness to work full time in Lilongwe for at least a yr, Ability and willingness to travel around Malawi, Fluency in both spoken and written English and Chichewa languages, Demonstrated knowledge of good practices in capacity development and delivery of technical assistance, Excellent Word, Excel and Power Point skills, Excellent spoken and written English and report writing skills,
