Chemonics seeks a lab logistics advisor for the Procurement and Supply Management (PSM) project in Mozambique. The PSM project will be the primary vehicle through which USAID will procure and provide health commodities, provide technical assistance to improve partner countries’ management of the supply chain, and collaborate with key international stakeholders to support global health initiatives. The lab logistics advisor will supervise the Laboratory Team and lead efforts to define monthly and quarterly vendor order quantities and site resupply quantities. Responsibilities include:
- Lead process for defining monthly and quarterly lab vendor order quantities and site resupply quantities by providing timely, quality management information to the Procurement Team.
- Ensure availability of HIV test kits and laboratory commodies.
- Lead and supervise the daily work of the Laboratory Team.
- Produce routine reports of lab statistics, including GIS data to be used for resource allocation.
- Lead efforts to build the capacity of project, MOH and other partner staff.
- Coordinate with lab stakeholders on harmonization and standardization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in public health program management, pharmaceuticals and medical supplies and/or supply chain management systems.
- Skilled in leading and managing high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work with cooperating partners in implementing complex programs.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills; proven diplomatic and public relations skills.
- Proficiency in Portuguese required.
