Post • Principal Human Resource Management Officer
Grade: G/P7
Responsible to: Chief Human Resource Management Officer (Grade F/P5)
Salary; Within salary range applicable to Grade G in the Parliamentary Service
Purpose of the Job
To manage human resource functions in order to effectively and efficiently realize the strategic goals of the National Assembly
Duties:
- Implementing staff recruitment plans;
- Reviewing and updating Job Descriptions;
- Advising on appropriate staff reward and motivation system and ensure good employee relations;
- Advising on human resource capital- forecast (planning, succession and career plans to ensure right skills and competencies);
- Participating in the development and implementation of sound HRM policies arc systems;
- Facilitating staff attachment to other Parliaments; internship and secondment to National Assembly;
- Developing and implementing training programmes based on identified training needs;
- Interpreting staff terms and conditions of service. code of conduct and ethical behaviours to the employees,
- Monitoring changes in the employment laws and assessing how they affect conditions of service and make appropriate recommendations to management,
- Advising management on best labour practices to minimize civil suits resulting from unfair labour practices,
- Appraising staff under his/her charge,
- Processing advances.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Human Resource Management
- With three (3) years’ post qualification experience in Human, Resource Management
