Limbe Leaf Tobacco Company Limited, one of the leading tobacco processors in Malawi, has the following vacant position at its Head Office in Lilongwe.

Pension Fund Principal Officer

Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate, will among other duties, be required to:
  • Ensure that accurate and complete records of members are maintained in compliance with Fund rules and regulations
  • Ensure that the Fund operates effectively and meets performance targets
  • Ensure member benefits are computed accurately and on time
  • Develop and maintain the Fund’s Business Continuity Plan (BCP) (Strategic Plan)
  • Resolve issues that may arise with individual pension claims, in liaison with the Trustees
  • Ensure that systems used to keep record and perform calculations are up-to-date
  • Communicate to members on the benefits of the Fund and enhance the general level of understanding of benefits to Fund members
  • Coordinate and manage meetings of trustees
  • Act as Liaison Officer between Trustees and members as well as Trustees and Service Providers
  • Maintain pension fund records
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
  • The Candidate should be in possession of a degree in Human Resources or Business Administration with credit
  • Must be between 30 — 35 years of age
  • Must have a very good understanding of Pensions and Pension Fund Management
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Must have at least two years human resources management experience at a supervisory level.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimum supervision
Leaf Buyer

Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Leaf Sales, the successful candidate will among other duties be required to:
  • Buy tobacco of all types at the right price and of the best quality through auction and contract systems
  • Give feedback to the buying team on the standard of tobacco being bought during tobacco sales
  • Reclassify tobacco in the Shed to make sure that quality levels are being maintained
  • Classify tobacco bought on the Auction Floors into right grade
  • Supervise leaf classifiers, leaf and NTRM checkers during sales on the floors and in the factory
  • Deal with appeals on bales rejected by the Company that have failed TCC arbitration
  • Liaise with Account Executive on customer order indications
  • Make sure that there are enough tobacco stocks to pack a grade and advise accordingly
  • Organize green inspections and make available reference samples for inspections
  • Prepare a purchase status report for the all grades
  • Compiles national crop assessment reports
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
  • The Candidate should be in possession of an Agriculture Degree or equivalent
  • Must be between 25 – 30 years of age
  • Must have 3 years’ experience in leaf sales operations
  • Must have excellent communication, analytical and computer skills
  • Should be able to work with minimum supervision
