Qualifications
Applicants should be:
- Holders of a Bachelor Degree in Education plus an Advanced University Degree (Masters) from a recognized institution with the following components: Policy, Planning and Leadership, Testing, Measurement and Evaluation, Leadership and Management, Curriculum and Teaching Studies
- In addition they should be serving officers with at least four (4) years experience at Grade G/(P7),
Responsible to: The Deputy Director (Basic Education).
Job Purpose: Management and Administration of Basic Education.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidates will carry out the following:
- Maintaining Basic Education standards in Malawi
- Ensuring the delivery of quality Basic Education in Malawi
- Ensuring that conflicts existing or arising between students and school management are properly resolved
- Coordinating and integrating efforts of various players for the efficient and effective delivery of Basic Education
- Providing input and advice into policy formulation, development and the maintenance of professional ethics
- Ensuring that activities of the Basic Education Directorate are carried out according to the Ministry’s strategic objectives

- Coordinating and integrating efforts of various players for the efficient and effective delivery of Secondary Education
- Providing input and advice into policy formulation, development and the maintenance of professional ethics
- Ensuring that activities of the Secondary Education Directorate are carried out according to the Ministry’s strategic objectives.
