Purpose of the Job
- Team leading of the daily tasks in the editorial and transcription pool
Duties
- Implementing quality standards as in the House Style,
- Chairing and facilitating periodic editorial meetings;
- Organizing pre-sitting briefings and orientations,
- Assisting the Chief Editor in the development of Hansard budgets, work plans and progress reports,
- Monitoring the duty rosters along with the Principal Reporter,
- Ensuring verifiable performance targets as relates to the section and core outputs of Hansard,
- Ensuring the timely posting and updating of online Hansard;
- Ensuring accuracy and timeliness in the production of Hansard;
- Facilitating the revision and compilation of Meeting and Session volumes of Hansards.
- Assisting in other parliamentary information, education and communications tasks.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Humanities or languages (English)
- With more than 2 years experience in parliamentary reporting work or other print publicationsmedia
- Those with supervisory experience will have an added advantage
