Organizational Setting |
The Director General's Office for Coordination provides leadership and coordination for all IAEA activities at the executive level for meeting Member States' needs, and achieving a one-house culture and a results-based management approach. The Office of Legal Affairs, which reports directly to the Director General, provides legal services of the highest possible standards to the Director General, the Secretariat and to the organs and bodies of the IAEA, as well as to Member States, regarding the implementation of the IAEA's activities. The Knowledge Management Officer position is part of the Office of Legal Affairs (OLA) to provide effective governance within OLA, the Director General's Office for Coordination (DGOC), and the Office of the Deputy Director General for Management (DDG-MT), and shares a portion of time within these areas. The Officer reports on respective functions and key results to these Offices. |
Main purpose |
The Knowledge Management Officer's main purpose is to provide expert advice on the development and implementation of the IAEA Knowledge Management System. |
Role |
The Knowledge Management Officer is (1) an expert in knowledge management, providing advice to identify, develop and implement effective knowledge management practices in the IAEA, and (2) acoordinator and advocate of knowledge management-related practices and activities within the Secretariat. |
Partnerships |
The Knowledge Manager Officer liaises with the Chair, the Scientific Secretary and the members of the IAEA's Interdepartmental Steering Group for Corporate Knowledge Management (ISG/CKM), the Office of Legal Affairs (OLA), and the Management Coordinator/Advisor of the Department of Management and other IAEA Senior Managers in the development and implementation of the IAEA CKM System and promotes awareness and acceptance of CKM initiatives throughout the IAEA. |

Remuneration |
The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $67 483 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), a variable post adjustment which currently amounts to US $45 281*, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses; 6 weeks' annual vacation, home leave,pension plan and health insurance.
