1 Expert Category I: Socio-Economist/Rural Development Expert (team leader)
Qualification and skills
- Master degree relevant to the assignment (Socio-Economics or Rural development engineering, rural development, social sciences, economy or equivalent) or bachelor degree with 5 years relevant experience in addition to the general professional experience.
- Good understanding of poverty alleviation and development strategies particularly in Malawi and/or Southern Africa context.
General professional experience
- Minimum of 12 years experience in rural infrastructures including irrigation and drainage.
Specific professional experience
- Minimum of 5 years of diversified experiences in multi-component rural infrastructures projects, including experience with rural road rehabilitation, small-scale irrigation and community forestry, preferably in developing countries.
- Minimum 3 years experience in rural development projects, including ccommunity approaches for developing sustainable livelihoods and poverty reduction, preferably in developing countries.
- Minimum of 2 relevant experiences in evaluation of multi-component and/or participatory rural development projects, preferably in Southern Africa.
- Preferably one relevant experience with EDF procedures and management of EDF projects.
The Team Leader will have the overall responsibility of quality control, compiling the report and maintaining the link with the NAO and EU Delegation.
