This position is located in the Women's Human Rights and Gender Section, Rule of Law, Equality and Non-Discrimination Branch, Research and Right to Development Division, of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and the incumbent reports to the Chief of the Women's Human Rights and Gender Section.

Education
An advanced University Degree (Masters or equivalent) in law with, political sciences, international relations, or other discipline related to human rights. A first level university degree in combination with two more years qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Work Experience
At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in human rights, including in women's human rights, of which at least 4 years at international level. Experience in working with national stakeholders, including parliaments, judges, lawyers, or law enforcement officials. Solid experience in the design of programs in the field of women's human rights and in the delivery of training and assistance to national stakeholders. Experience in providing advice in the area of human rights and in the development of policies, tools, and guidelines.

Languages
Fluency in English or French is required. Knowledge of the other is highly desirable. Knowledge of an additional UN language is an asset.
