BASIC FUNCTION
To manage the growth and performance of the branch Loan Portfolio. Developing and executing plans that will allow the branch to achieve their targets and implement strategies set by the institution.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
I. Budget and Targets
- Develop together with the ARO a plan/strategy on building a balanced risk portfolio, to meet Targets / Budget
- Constantly evaluate the portfolio of AROs against the Targets
II. Sell products to Clients
- Organize Credit sensitization seminars and information dissemination for existing and potential borrowers.
- Meet with clients to identify their needs.
- III. Processing of loan applications
- As member of the branch credit committee, participate in credit committee and assess, review and approve loans as per policy.
- On a selective basis visit client businesses and securities to assess creditworthiness where necessary.
IV. Manage client relationships
- Meet with clients to identify their satisfaction with FINCA Products and services.
- IV. Risk Management
- Develop and implement action plans for maintaining the PAR as per set targets.
- Ensure that all procedures are adhered to at all stages of loan processing and approval
VI. Loan Recovery
- Organize delinquency review meetings and follow up action.
- Manage default cases with external debt collectors as required.
VII. Record Keeping
- Supervise recording and filing of all loan security documents.
- Maintain a well functioning filing system at the branch for all loan documents.
- Ensure safe custody and retrieval of all loan documents.
VIII. Reporting and Adherence to procedures
- Analyze, compile and submit reports as per reporting standards.
- Ensure that all procedures are adhered to at all stages of loan processing.
IX. Competition / Market Trends
- Review market conditions and recommend changes to the products, process and procedures.
X. Performance Management
- Regularly meet with the account relationship officers’ team to identify and propose solutions to issues that may affect meeting of targets.
- Provide guidance / coaching in the job
- Provide periodic feedback
- Plan and conduct performance appraisals
XI. Training
- Train staff on new and existing products and policies
PERSONNEL SPECIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Minimum level of entry- Diploma preferably in a business oriented field.
Language:
- English/French and local language of the operational area.
Experience:
- At least 2 years credit work experience in a reputable micro finance institution or commercial bank.

- A sound knowledge of micro finance, principles, and practices of banking.
