Internship – Justice Rapid Response, New York, Deadline: 6 June 2014
Justice Rapid Response (JRR) (visit http://www.justicerapidresponse.org for more information) seeks an intern for its New York liaison office.
The intern will be assigned projects and tasks on international criminal justice topics that are relevant to their academic background and interests and provide them with the opportunity to put into practice and further develop their theoretical knowledge. The intern will assist with research and draft background material on international criminal justice and serious international human rights violations, as well as assist with administrative tasks, including assisting in the preparation of training courses, updating databases, arranging meetings, answering the phone, keeping track of contact information and translating documents. The intern will also assist in monitoring topics of interest to JRR and may attend meetings, take notes and prepare reports. Efforts will be made to match assignments to the intern's interests when possible. This is an unpaid internship.
The internship will begin in June and run through the end of August with the possibility to continue beyond the Summer of 2014.
Requirements:
•At least an undergraduate degree is required - a degree in law, international relations, conflict studies, government, or similar is desirable;
•Fluency in English is a requirement, good knowledge of French and other languages an asset;
•Strong skills in writing, proofreading and desk-based research;
•Highly organized and able to pay close attention to detail.
