This position is located in the Terminology and Reference Section, Editorial, Terminology and Reference Service, Department for General Assembly and Conference Management (DGACM) in New York. The incumbent reports to the Chief of Terminology and Reference Section.
Education
A first-level degree in terminology, computational linguistics or a related field. Candidates for this position must have passed the United Nations Competitive Examination for Computational Linguists. A combination of a postgraduate degree and relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the competitive examination requirement.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years experience as a terminologist or computational linguist or in a related field, preferably within the United Nations system, is required. Experience in development, implementation and management of terminology related multilingual databases, web applications and computer assisted translation tools is desirable.
Languages
Excellent knowledge of at least one official language of the United Nations is required, as well as knowledge in at least two additional official languages.
