INTERPOL is now looking for one qualified candidate as Systems Technician within its Information Systems and Technology Directorate.

Introduction of Post  
The holder of the post is under the responsibility of the Head Branch System, is responsible for installing, administering and optimizing systems, servers and components of the IT infrastructure of the Organization in accordance with established service levels agreements.
The systems concerned are systems hosted within the Datacentres of the Organisation, hosted within the Computer rooms of the Organisation at the Headquarters, on remote sites (Regional Bureaus and external Office).
1 PRIMARY DUTIES
No. 1: Daily smooth operation of all systems
• Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
• Troubleshoots the systems infrastructure, including hardware, virtualization infrastructure, storage infrastructure, messaging and collaboration systems, Account and ID management systems and make corrective actions when necessary under the supervision of the Head of Branch or a Senior team member.
• Could participate in 24x7 on-call rotation.
No. 2: Design and implementation of solution & architecture systems 
• Acts as project resource and work with Senior team members to assist with the design and review of new server systems, applications and hardware.
• Assists senior team members with architecting the server infrastructure required to support these projects
No. 3: Level 2 & 3 IT Support
• Prioritizes and responds to Service Desk tickets as appropriate; provide timely response to escalations in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs)
• Manages Enterprise directory services and supports server infrastructure.
• Works on document procedures and processes upon request.
No. 4: 
• Performs other related duties as required by the supervisors.
2 REQUIREMENTS
All candidates will be assessed on the under mentioned requirements.
2.1 Training/Education required
• Bachelor Degree or equivalent in the field of information technology
• Internationally recognized IT certifications
2.2 Languages
• Professional fluency in English (written and spoken)
2.3 Experience required
• At least 3 years’ experience in building, configuring, and managing Windows servers in an international environment
• At least 2 years’ experience in virtual infrastructure such as VMWare
2.4 Specific IT Technical and computer skills required
• In depth understanding of Windows fundamentals including IIS, NTFS permissions, Active Directory, GPO
• Experience with Virtualization of servers and desktops (VMware, Microsoft)
• Experience crafting and deploying GPOs
• Experience with scripting (VBScript, PowerShell, etc..)
• Familiarity with DHCP, DNS, RDS and Certificate Services
• Experience with Microsoft Exchange  2013 in a global environment
• Experience with enterprise SAN/NAS such as NetApp
• Experience with monitoring and analytics tools such as PRTG, Nagios, Cacti, Splunk
• Hardware skills from server installation and configuration
• RHEL and LAMP experiences are a plus
• Knowledge of ITIL methodologies and practices

2.5 Specific aptitudes required
• Ability to work autonomously, adapt to different situations and manage stress.
• Demonstrate good teamwork and maintain positive interactions with others.
• Good verbal, reading comprehension and writing skills. 
• Ability to determine the condition of objects/parts for wear and/or defects.
• Dedicated to getting the job done while meeting established standards of quality, safety and client satisfaction. 
• Proficiency in a second Organization official working language (French, Spanish or Arabic);
• Experience of oral presentations software, business intelligence and word processing software.
3 WORKING CONDITIONS
• The starting salary for Grade 6 is EUR 2 873 per month for a step 1.

• This post requires occasional travel on missions, sometimes of a long duration and at short notice.
• The incumbent will also be required to work occasional overtime based upon workload.
* The Organization plans to establish a Global Complex in Singapore in the last quarter of 2014. Although no decisions have been made at this time as to which posts will be transferred to Singapore, acceptance of the post implies acceptance of a transfer to Singapore.
