Expert Category II: Rural infrastructure expert
Qualification and skills
- Master degree relevant to the assignment (rural infrastructure engineering or equivalent) or bachelor degree with 5 years relevant experience in addition to the general professional experience.
- Conversant with the principles and working methods of project cycle management and EU aid delivery methods.
General professional experience
- Minimum of 6 years experience in rural infrastructures including irrigation and drainage.
Specific professional experience
- Minimum of 4 years experience in labour intensive rural road rehabilitation and maintenance approaches, preferably in developing countries.
- Minimum of 2 years experience with the implementation of small-scale irrigation and community forestry projects, preferably in developing countries.
- At least one experience in planning, implementation, contract management, and monitoring and evaluation of rural infrastructure projects/components in Sub-Saharan Africa, including Southern Africa.
- Preferably one experience with the concept and implementation of EDF – funded rural road projects.
