The DWC is a national Centre of Research Excellence in New Zealand that conducts research in fundamental areas of photonics, quantum optics, ultra-cold atomic and quantum physics, and their applications. We are seeking bright and motivated researchers to join our team in 2015. Postdoctoral fellowships and postgraduate scholarships are offered at our partner universities (Otago, Auckland, Massey, Canterbury and Victoria).
We are looking for postdoctoral researchers in the following areas:
- Optical Frequency Combs and cavity solitons
- THz devices and applications
- Optical Sensing including optical coherence tomography
- Cavity QED
- Non-equilibrium theory of ultra-cold quantum fluids
We are also offering numerous fully-funded Ph.D. scholarships across our major research themes:
- Photonic Sensing and Imaging
- Photonic Sources and Components
- Quantum Fluids and Quantum Gases
- Quantum Manipulation and Quantum Information
The closing dates for postdoctoral fellowship applications are approx. 28 November 2014 – 1 December 2014 and successful candidates will be expected to start early in 2015. The initial closing date for postgraduate scholarships is 1 December 2014 for the 2015 academic year; however scholarships will be offered on a rolling basis and will be available until filled.
