About IRRI
IRRI is a nonprofit independent research and training organization and is a member of the CGIAR Consortium . IRRI's research is being done under the framework of the CGIAR Research Program on Rice, also known as the Global Rice Science Partnership (GRiSP) , which the Institute leads.
Job Purpose
Under the general supervision of a Scientist, the successful candidate will plan the implementation of experiment(s), survey(s), and other research studies and conduct them as specified / detailed in the research outline. Collect and analyze data. Work closely together with collaborating partners. Contribute to data analysis and the preparation of manuscripts for reports, publications and presentations/posters. Assist in training activities. The position is funded by the Transforming Rice breeding (TRB) Efficiency project.
This position is based at the IRRI Mozambique Country Office and can only be filled by citizens and permanent residents of Mozambique.
Roles and Responsibilities
Plan the implementation of field experiment(s) in the field of Plant breeding to support projects goals of the Organizational Unit\'s (OU\'s) research objectives related to breeding activities
Assist in supervising the implementation of experiments and other research studies in the field of plant breeding
Collect and analyze research data in the field of plant breeding
Contribute to the preparation of reports and publications, and presentations in the field of plant breeding
People Management
Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor from time to time
