JOB DESCRIPTION
- Follow-up the implementation of resolutions of the Ministerial meetings and to prepare for next ones.
- Preparing the draft resolutions and reports of the OIC Secretary General in the field of information submitted to various OIC conferences and communicate with the OIC Member States for their implementation.
- Interaction with media in the Muslim world through mutual meetings, conferences and exchange of visits.
- Interaction with foreign media and finding out mechanisms to foster it.
- Cooperating and coordinating with the International Islamic News Agency (IINA) and the Islamic Broadcasting Union (IBU).
- Coordinating with the Global Digital Solidarity Fund in the field of media to activate the cooperation agreements between the OIC General Secretariat and the fund.
- Supervising the issuance of press releases in coordination with relevant OIC departments following up their translation process into the three official languages of the OIC and sending them electronically to media institutions in different parts of the world and to coordinate with the IT Department to ensure their uploading to the OIC website.
- Arranging interviews for the Secretary General and senior officials with Muslim and foreign media and following-up media coverage of their activities.
- Coordinate information work between the information branches of Member States and Secretariat as well as other information bodies in the interest of the Islamic nations.
- Organize daily briefings with the Secretary General to assess current events and evolve stands thereon as and when required.
- Transform the Secretary General’s stands into press releases and disseminate them among the media and attend post-press/media follow-up meetings.
- Elaborate on the Secretary General’s reports and draft resolutions pertaining to information and communication affairs to be relayed to the Islamic Conferences.
- Draft progress reports for the Summit, ICFM and Information Ministers’ meetings.
- Organize, distribute, and manage the work of the employees of the department and directly supervise information activities.
- Supervising all media publication.
- Perform other duties as and when required by his superiors.

Education
Ph.D. degree in Media and Communication, International Studies, Journalism, Political Science, or related area; combined with extensive experience in the outlined tasks. Preferably PhD degree.

Work Experience
At least 12 years of progressively responsible experience at International or Intergovernmental Organizations preferably within the foreign services of the member states or at intergovernmental organizations.

Languages
Fluent, in at least two of the three official languages of the OIC, which are English, Arabic and French. Preferably to have knowledge of the three languages.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- To be a Muslim national of one of the OIC Member States.
- To be below fifty-six years of age.
- To be free of diseases and infirmities that may hinder the exercise of his/her duties
- To be either nominated by his/her State or his State should have no objection to his appointment.
