The Centre for Conflict Resolution (CCR) is an independent, non-governmental pan-African organisation, based in Cape Town, South Africa. Over the past 46 years, it has worked continentally to promote constructive, creative, and co-operative approaches to the resolution of conflicts and the reduction of violence. It has produced ground-breaking research on African security and governance issues, has conducted extensive capacity-building training, and facilitated and mediated peace processes across Africa.
The Fundraising and Communications Cluster of the Centre aims to influence national and international debates on key policy issues, inform and educate opinion, involve the public in CCR’s work, and disseminate this work more widely.
The Centre invites applications from suitable candidates to fill the following position:
SENIOR ADMINISTRATION OFFICER: COMMUNICATIONS
Key responsibilities:  To organise project meetings, workshops, and seminars;  To manage public dialogues;  To provide general administrative support to the two Senior Project Officers in the Cluster;  To assist the two Senior Project Officers in media and public relations functions;  To maintain the project materials and equipment;  To maintain and use the client / stakeholder databases for distribution; and  To maintain and update monitoring and evaluation documents.
Requirements:  A Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Journalism, Communications, or in a related field;  At least two years experience in general office administration and in organising events;  Good verbal and written skills in English;  Analytical skills;  Knowledge and experience of managing databases; and  Computer literacy, i.e. Microsoft Office and internet.
Advantages:  A knowledge of conflict management and peacebuilding;  Experience in a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) environment;  Experience in media, communications, or public relations, and web design; and  A driver’s licence and own transport.
