Safety & Environmental Officer (f/m)

For a tender of a World Bank funded project in the water sector in Mozambique, we are looking for an experienced Safety & Environmental Officer.

This project concerns the following objectives:
  • Improvement of conditions of water supply in the metropolitan area of Maputo
  • Construction of water treatment plants (WTP) and transmission facilities, pumping stations, control tank (CTA), centralized technical management system (SCADA) and other ancillary structures
§ Increase access to clean water to the residents in the Greater Maputo Area

Main tasks of the Safety & Environmental Officer:
  • Carry out the duties of a Safety & Environmental Officer – carry out and provide all necessary activities / services as needed to facilitate project progress

Educational background:
  • Min. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with focus on Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
  • Complementary training in the area of health and safety in a construction environment

Essential experience and skills:
  • Min. 10 years sound site experience
  • At least 4 years experience in implementation of safety systems at construction sites and EMPs
  • Knowledge of FIDIC conditions with proven use in projects

Tentative time schedule:
Start of project: end of May 2014
Assignment time: 21 months
