Supply Chain Manager

After having successfully installed 2,500 live systems in Tanzania and Kenya and proven the feasibility of the concept, Mobisol is now moving into the business at a larger scale and is looking for an experienced Supply Chain/Logistics professional with a strong understanding of manufacturing, purchasing and logistics processes.
Tasks and expected Output
• Analyse and develop strategies for optimization of all supply channels
• Proactively support the operations in Kenya/Tanzania/Rwanda, identifying and communicating product demands, shipment schedules and procurement needs; executing purchasing activities to meet demands
• Manage and coordinate purchase orders, shipment and inventory to support Mobisol’s hub level replenishment
• Develop, establish and maintain partnerships with key suppliers to ensure continuity of supply, consistent quality and delivery, competitive pricing and a shared goal with mutual benefits for process/cost improvements
• Analyse data, formatting information to support decision making to consolidate suppliers, recommend changes to current way of working, alternative costing models
• Monitor and control transport costs, inventory carrying costs, handling costs, storage costs and packaging costs for different parts depending on sourcing area, etc.

Requirements
Expertise
• 5+ years of experience in (global) supply chain/logistics, production control, inventory management;
• Working knowledge of supply chain modelling, simulation, and software as well as spread sheet calculation, etc.
• Engineer and/or business degree required
• Understanding of supply chain planning, product allocation, sales and operational planning, procurement, controlling
• Understanding of business drivers that may impact cost / performance / viability of the supply chain
• Strong quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills
• Passion, or the willingness to become immersed in work
• Initiative and ability as well as willingness to operate in dynamic environments
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to set priorities
• Good communication skills
• Working experience in East Africa/Developing countries a plus
Languages
• Fluency in German and English
• Chinese is a plus
