Qualification and skills      

• University degree in agriculture, agro-economics or equivalent;
• Fluency in the English language, strong ability to write and edit documents in English is a prerequisite;
• Knowledge of Portuguese.

Professional experience

• At least 6 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 5 years in developing countries, preferably Sub-Saharan Africa;
• The expert must have extensive specific experience related to the assignment, in particular with rural and agriculture development and pro poor growth strategies within the agricultural sector;
• Experience with agriculture sector performance analysis, value chain development and partnerships with the private sector will be a strong advantage.
