Organizational Context:
With its 192 member countries, the Universal Postal Union (UPU), a specialized agency of the United Nations, is the primary forum for cooperation between postal sector players. It helps to ensure a truly universal network of up-to-date products and services.
The postal sector has been confronted with far-reaching changes over the past few years. It has become essential for Posts to apply the latest technology in order to respond effectively to evolving customer needs. The aim of the UPU's Postal Technology Centre (PTC) is to provide the link between technology and the needs of the postal industry by serving as the first-choice provider of IT solutions, applications and services that facilitate the delivery of international and national postal services.
Main duties:
The PTC is looking for a Data Analyst with at least two years' experience in postal operations. The duties of the position are as follows:

- Quality analysis of data
Monitor and analyze data received at the Postal Technology Centre
Study anomalies and draw conclusions about potential impact on reports
Contact customers to address such issues when necessary
Supervise Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) services and the Quality Control System (QCS)

- Quality analysis of reports
Execute reports relating to measurement of customer performance
Identify anomalies, drops in performance or lack of data transmissions
Prepare reports and data extractions to justify any issues detected

- Provide second-level support on incidents and requests related to reports through the ticketing tool
Collaborate with appropriate PTC teams to identify areas for improvement at application and report level (e.g. write functional specifications for new reporting application, capture Problem Reports/Change Requests (PRCR) when necessary and validate them once implemented)
Define and execute test cases for updates related to PTC products
Maintain documentation and keep procedures up to date
QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Education:
First-level university degree (bachelor's or similar) with focus on one of the following fields: logistics, economics, business intelligence, mathematics or information technology, or equivalent experience in the postal field.
Experience:
At least two years' experience in postal operations
Practical knowledge of UPU regulations
Technical knowledge: 
Good practical knowledge of SQL
Good understanding of mail tracking and usage
Advanced abilities in Excel and other reporting tools
Basic knowledge of Service Desk ITIL processes and best practices
Skills and abilities / competencies:
Proactive and organized
Excellent communicator
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and solve problems
Able to work in a multicultural team
Customer- and result-oriented
Language skills:
Good working knowledge of English. Knowledge of other languages, especially French, would be an advantage.
