People in Need is non-governemntal, non-profit organization based on the ideas of humanism, freedom, equality and solidarity. We consider human dignity and freedom to be the basic values. Within the twenty years of its existence People in Need has become one of the biggest non-profit organization in Central Europe. Apart from humanitarian aid and human rights, it started targeting the field of education as well as helping people living in social exclusion.
People in Need is a member of Alliance2015, a strategic network of seven European non-governmental organizations engaged in humanitarian assistance and development projects. This collaboration yields effective results both in the target countries and in campaigns aimed at influencing the attitudes of politicians and the general public in Europe.
We are seeking for new colleagues who could serve as Financial managers on the missions. Financial manager is responsible for financial stability of the mission, provides support to project managers in financial matters and is in close contact with headquarter in Prague.
Main responsibilities:
  • Financial planning of the mission, cash flow, budget preparation
  • Supervision of the compliance of the processes and documentation with the local legal and administrative measures, with Donors´ regulations and PIN internal rules
  • Responsibility for the financial and project reporting to the donors and HQ
  • Local team management and supervision
  • Supervising the mission accountancy and cash register
Main requirements:
  • High school / University degree in Economy
  • Advanced level of English is required, French or Portuguese is a advantage
  • Experience with team management and supervision
  • Ability to organize and plan effectively
  • Ability to work in difficult conditions and under pressure
  • Responsible and systematic
  • Knowledge of double-entry accounting (at least knowledge from school)
  • Working experience with an accounting and economic software
  • Cultural sensitivity, work/travel in development countries is a great advantage
  • Great communication skills
