Private Sector Development Adviser: DFID Nepal
DFID Nepal is seeking to fill the post of Private Sector Development Adviser inviting applications from interested and experienced Nepalese candidates or those having a relevant work permit to work in Nepal. The main duties will be to provide an effective and efficient service to DFID Nepal in developing and safeguarding delivery of growing work on private sector-led programmes including External Representation.

Health adviser: DFID Zimbabwe

The UK Government’s Department for International Development (DFID) Zimbabwe, wishes to appoint a Health Adviser. This post will be for a fixed term of 18 months. Zimbabwe is a high priority for the UK Government andDFID Zimbabwe’s programme is at the forefront of the UK’s efforts to support Zimbabwe to become a more stable, prosperous and democratic country. DFID Zimbabwe’s Operational Plan gives details of DFID’s programme in Zimbabwe including an average annual health spend of approximately £30 million per year. The post holder will support delivery of the health programmes and be part of the eight-member Basic Services Team which also has responsibility for work on education and water and sanitation.

This post will initially be for a fixed term of 2 years with the possibility of an extension thereafter. Zimbabwe is a high priority for the UK Government and DFID Zimbabwe’s programme is at the forefront of the UK’s efforts to support Zimbabwe to become a more stable, prosperous and democratic country.

Livelihoods and Food Security adviser: DFID Zimbabwe

The UK Government’s Department for International Development (DFID) Zimbabwe, wishes to appoint a Livelihoods and Food Security Adviser. This post will initially be for a fixed term of 2 years with the possibility of an extension thereafter. DFID is one of the largest bilateral donors in Zimbabwe, spending more than £105 million in 2013/14. The number of Zimbabweans dependent on food assistance has fallen dramatically from its peak of 6 million in 2008-09, to a low of just over 1 million in 2011-12. However, after 3 consecutive years of the numbers of food insecure reducing, a single poor harvest increased the numbers of food insecure by over sixty per cent in 2012-13. DFID’s focus has moved from supporting households to survive, to more empowering support to help them increase their resilience and move out of poverty.

ICT Support Officer: Zambia

This exciting and challenging position will contribute directly to the achievement of the UK’s top priorities in Zambia. Do you have a good understanding of how software and hardware systems work? Do you have excellent listening and questioning skills combined with the ability to interact confidently with clients to establish what the problem is and explain the solution? Are you able to work well in a team as well as work under pressure with minimum supervision? Do you have at least 3 years experience working in an IT environment? Are you educated to diploma/degree standard or equivalent and have excellent written and spoken English? If you can answer yes to all of the above questions, you might be the person we are looking for.
