ACCA currently has an exciting opportunity for the position of Head of ACCA Malawi, based in Blantyre.
As the Head of ACCA Malawi, you will be responsible for the successful implementation of ACCA strategy in accordance with established policies, agreed targets and key performance indicators.
In this role you will be involved in the formulation and execution of agreed business plans to achieve consistent membership and student growth and to develop ACCA’s strong reputation in Malawi as well as build relationships with key stakeholders, identify key service propositions,ensure the provision of quality student services and manage budget utilisation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide strategic and visionary leadership for the delivery of ACCA’s strategy and ensure a long-term and strategic positioning of the ACCA brand in the market
2. Determine and take forward the employer and relationship management approach in your geographical region. Target specific sectors as appropriate in consultation with the Regional Director and ACCA’s Global HQ in order to help employers grow by developing their finance capability and brand reputation and so enhancing ACCA’s reputation in the marketplace
3. Build and maintain influence by engaging at a strategic level with ACCA stakeholders and influential groups connected with the accounting profession, including key individuals in government departments, local accountancy bodies and regulators, employers, senior ACCA members, educational institutions and tuition providers etc
4. Work with the Employer and Relationship Management Unit to determine a plan of activity for global employers, cross border employers in your market, and priority national employers
5. Manage the provision of quality engagement services to members and students in your market
6. Stay abreast of key issues relevant to the accountancy profession and business community and ensure that ACCA is well positioned as a key influencer on these issues ensuring the delivery of ACCA’s thought leadership agenda
7. Represent ACCA as a local figurehead and key spokesperson in local media on subjects in relation to the accountancy profession and the ACCA
8. Ensure the successful implementation of the Fit for the Future strategic initiatives including the enabling of the delivery of Market Operations Transformation
9. Develop, train and motivate the local team in line with ACCA's organisation wide competency framework

Desired Skills and Experience
• Educated to degree level and possibly also possess a relevant professional qualification i.e. ACCA, CIM, MBA etc (advantageous)
• Good knowledge of the accounting community and accountancy related issues, a good appreciation of economics, business law and public affairs (essential)
• Excellent communicator with first class presentation skills, both written and oral, (essential)
• Proven leader with excellent people-management and influencing skills
• Ability to work under pressure, on own initiative and within agreed budgets
• Ability to deliver agreed KPI’s
• Proven experience as a team player with excellent people and influencing skills
• Ability to contribute to ACCA’s policy agenda as required
• Fluent spoken and written English (essential)
• Good knowledge of the accounting community and accountancy related issues, a good appreciation of economics, business law and public affairs (essential)
