Role overview
A need has been identified to strengthen management and delivery of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) through mentoring, supervision, formal and on-the-job training to improve the quality of maternal health care services provided in the district to reduce maternal deaths. You'll work closely with the Nursing staff at Ntcheu District Hospital as well as at the 9 targeted Health Facilities to broaden knowledge of CPD practice and contribute to building capacity of professional staff. You'll support the delivery and management of CPD activities for the district and encourage the participation of professional staff. You'll support the Needs Assessment activities and prioritization process; conduct CPD sessions and mentor staff whilst monitoring development. You'll support the creation of an environment that is conducive to the provision of quality care through CPD.

Skills, qualifications and experience required
You are a qualified Registered General Nurse and / or Midwife, with ideally a minimum of a Bachelors degree or equivalent in Nursing/Midwifery. You have a minimum of 5 years experience post Nurse/Midwifery qualification and experience mentoring or coaching peers and colleagues. You'll ideally have experience developing or managing Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programmes. You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Due to the funding agreement, this volunteer will be Malawian Diaspora.
