Interim Finance Manager

Our partner is a non-profit organization & their mission is to provide a preferential option for the poor in health care. They began working in Malawi in 2007, where today they serve a catchment area of 125,000 through 11 health centres and two hospitals in partnership with sister organizations.
Our partner is seeking a senior accounting professional who is able to spend 2-3 months focused on helping the Finance Director in Malawi to develop and manage a high performance accounting team.
JOB SPECIFICATION:
· Training staff on basic accounting skills including bank, petty cash, and other balance sheet reconciliations, payroll entry, and other monthly entries.
· Working with the Finance Director and team members to determine the most efficient method of dividing and completing the tasks necessary to close each month on a timely basis.
. Daily and weekly activities would include training along with cash and accounting support. Monthly activities would include general ledger account reconciliations as well as payroll and general ledger entries.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:
· Professional qualification in Accounting: CPA III or ACCA (or equivalent) and educated to degree level – finance or management preferred.
· Proven audit and training experience
· Proven skills in managing change, achieving results, ensuring quality, and building teams and capacity
· Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel and accounting packages
· Ability to remain productive under pressure as part of a professional team
· Excellent interpersonal skills, including cultural sensitivity, assertiveness and negotiating skills
