Team Leader – Skills for Employment (S4E) Programme Mozambique

Cardno is seeking Expressions of Interest for a Team Leader for the Department for International Development’s (DFID’s) Skills for Employment (S4E) programme in Mozambique. This role requires expertise in DFID Team Leadership, Marking Markets Work for the Poor (M4P), Challenge Fund Management, and experience in the Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sub-sector. The Program seeks to economically empower Mozambicans, particularly women and girls, by stimulating access to affordable, meaningful and quality employment and training services, which will catalyse access to employment opportunities.
Duration: 2 year contact with option to extend for an additional 4 years
Start Date: Late 2015​
Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a dynamic professional with extensive experience managing DFID programmes. Our perfect candidate is a known performer and regular DFID Team Leader, has achieved strong results on a M4P program, and has a good understanding of TVET and the skills development sector. An ability to speak Portuguese and experience in Mozambique, are also be highly regarded.
​Key Selection Criteria:
  • At least 10 years’ experience of working on DFID-funded programmes;
  • Practical experience of market systems development / M4P approaches;
  • Experience in in the design and implementation of skills development support programmes in Sub-Saharan Africa;
  • Outstanding team leadership skills with experience of managing a large long-term, multi-component programme;
  • Challenge / Grant Fund management experience.
