POSITION SUMMARY
Impact Hub Global is looking for a highly talented Regional Incubation Program Manager: Africa to deliver and coordinate the Impact Hub Fellowship and Social Business Incubation Program in relation to Resilience Africa. The Impact Hub Fellowship is a topic focused entrepreneurial incubation program designed to attract, select and support early stage impact oriented entrepreneurs and help them realize their innovations for a more sustainable world. The Social Business Incubator is a program that focuses on helping ambitious social entrepreneurs bridge the pioneer gap (developing ideas into investor-ready ventures).

As part of this evolution, we are now looking for an exceptional individual to join our Africa team as a Regional Incubation Program Manager. This position will be responsible for the delivery of the Impact Hub Fellowship and Social Business Incubation programs in relation with Resilience Africa Initiative and is expected to liaise with, cultivate good working relationships, and host the framework of collaboration with the different participants and stakeholders involved. Furthermore, the development and maintenance of impact measurements belongs to his/her area of competence along with the management of communications for the program within the Resilience Africa initiative. He/she will work closely with the Impact Hub Fellowship Global Program Manager, Social Business Incubator Manager, Impact Hub Growth Manager and Impact Hub Africa Lead in establishing the Hub Fellowship’s business model and further evolving the organization.

Impact Hub and Cordaid: Resilience Africa
The initiative consists of a multi-layer program with the aim to develop strong and resilient local entrepreneurial ecosystems and subsequently local economies and societies in five countries across Africa. The initiative includes a Seed Program, two regional incubation programs for local entrepreneurs (Impact Hub Fellowship and Social Business Incubator) and a series of thought leadership events. The aim is to build a locally-owned and driven, sustainable physical and social infrastructure for entrepreneurship and innovation in 5 selected countries. (Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya and Sierra Leone).
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for an outstanding individual to help run our program business unit, working hand in hand with our Impact Hub Fellowship Global Program Manager, Social Business Incubator Manager, Impact Hub Growth Manager and Impact Hub Africa Lead. The central part of your job will be the project management for our African programs: Impact HUB Fellowship and Social Business Incubator. You will independently manage the programs, coordinate stakeholders, prepare documents and handle external communication. You will be in close exchange with your peers in the global Impact Hub network and the African Team and participate in important stakeholder meetings to further develop our programs.

  • You have relevant work experience in Incubation Program Management and thus know how to get things done.
  • You have extended experience working with start-ups in the broader African Context.
  • Working in a vibrant start-up team motivates you and you are able to self-motivate and drive your areas of responsibility.
  • You are passionate about and immersed into relevant topics, developments and conversations in the field of social impact entrepreneurship and innovation.
  • You care about details, are persistent and strive for excellence in whatever you do.
  • You are proficient both in English and French.
  • You have excellent user skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • You are open minded, self-reliant, and excited about being part of a diverse, fast-paced, global start-up environment.
  • You are able to demonstrate key components of the Impact Hub approach: entrepreneurship, collaboration, innovation and exceptional execution ability. 
Team engagement
  • Full member of the regional team
  • Main collaboration with Impact Hub Fellowship Global Program Manager, Social Business Incubator Manager, Impact Hub Africa Lead and Impact Hub Growth Manager, general coordination and cooperation with global team and local network representatives expected.
  • Participation in selected Advisory Council Meetings and Impact Hub Association Board/Network Calls.

JOB SPECIFICATION
  • Role: Full Time (1FTE)
  • Position: Regional Incubation Program Manager
  • Location: Based anywhere in Africa. Preference will be given to candidates based in Burundi, DRC, Ethiopia, Kenya or Sierra Leone
  • Remuneration (independent contractor): TBD;
  • Contract: Till end of year 2015 with performance review and opportunity to extend.
