BMB Mott MacDonald is currently implementing a 4 year EU financed project on Local Economic Development (ProDEL) in Mozambique. The PRODEL programme is aimed at promoting local economic development in Mozambique, and has particular focus on the fields of agribusiness and value chain development. The programme which started earlier this year is set to end in 2017.
The position of Team Leader has become vacant with the withdrawal of our current Team Leader. It will be a fulltime position for the remainder of the project duration (2 years) with the starting date: as soon as possible, but not later than March 2015. We seek a dynamic expert that will steer and monitor our project out of the central office in Maputo, working together with the DNPDR (National Department for the Promotion of Rural Development) in identifying economic development projects that can be financed through our 30 M € Grant Fund.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Coordination of programme activites at central level.
* Management of field teams in the Province.
* Overall responsibility for timely and correct submission of deliverables.
* Responsible for communication with key stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS
* Experience with EU rules and regulations (especially 9th and 10th EDF) and experience with and knowledge of managing EU Programme Estimates.
* Excellent writing/ reporting skills.
* At least 10 Years of proven experience as team leader (ideally in EU projects).
* At least 10 years of professional experience in the fields of agribusiness, value chain development, and/or Local Economic Development.
* Solid knowledge of Mozambican procurement practice and rules (Decreto 15).
* At least 5 years long term work experience in Mozambique or neighbouring countries in areas relevant to the contract.
* Experience in agricultural and rural development programs and working with both the private and public sectors in Mozambique.
* International expert.
* Consensus builder, experience working in an extremely challenging environment.
* Ability to work and communicate effectively in English and Portuguese is a must.
