We are looking for an Intern, Maternal, Infant and Young Child Nutrition in our Geneva Office!
We are looking for an intern to support the programmatic and administrative activities of the Maternal, Infant and Young Child Nutrition (MIYCN) initiative.
This internship is an opportunity for a young professional interested in global health and development to gain insights into program activities and processes along with experience in working in a dynamic and multicultural environment.
Responsibilities
Program Support (75%):
  • Help in the preparation of reports including country or regional summary documents and other materials to communicate the performance of GAIN's programs to GAIN's Senior Management, Board of Directors, donors and the general public.
  • Support the MIYCN initiative in providing project management services and report writing on MIYCN grants.
  • Help in the review of business plans and evaluate MIYCN proposals for funding, and help prepare resources mobilization proposals.
  • Conduct reviews of literature and prepare case studies, policy as well as technical position papers.
  • Help transfer the files from the GAIN SharePoint site to an integrated project management information system.
Administrative support (25%):
  • Draft meeting agendas for calls and meetings, prepare summary notes and assume responsibility for the preparation and delivery of the required documentation for key meetings
  • Assist in scheduling and planning of events, such as on-site and off-site meetings, conferences, and presentations.
  • Correspondence and document drafting including reports, contracts, and other administrative documents.
We are looking for someone with…
  • Academic background with University degree in nutrition or development studies.
  • Field-based and/or administrative experience a plus.
  • Ability to use work collaboratively, show initiative, prioritize, multi-task, and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal required; French a plus.
  • Computer literacy with excellent Excel, MS word, Outlook, and Power Point skills. Knowledge of SharePoint a plus.
  • Experience of writing papers/essays (for example during education); experience in writing proposals a plus.
